Well yes, I may be back now just a bit.
I know now that the Summer will always
be a low blog time for me.
I just don't have it in me to carve out
sleepless nights in the Summer.
However, I have so much to share.
So, without further adieu
let me share with you a couch.
Yes, that's right a couch.
This project began many a moon ago
with this post about purchasing some
gorgeous houndstooth fabric.
I lovelovelove houndstooth!!!!
Anyway, it took me several months
to actually gain the courage to begin the project.
Who am I kidding?
I am no expert or even amateur seamstress.
I am a pretender at best.
Finally, toward the end of May I began the journey though,
and by the middle of July I was done.
YES! It really took me this long because
I had two parties to plan,
bible study to attend,
swim lessons, and life in general to also tend to.
Plus, I would bust it out all day for a day or two
and not want to touch it again for a week.
Well, the couch is now done.
I love it.
I love that it changed the lines of the couch.
It makes for super fun and cool storage for the boys stuff.
I am going to be on the look out for more vintage pieces.
Psst . . . there will be an upcoming post
about what is inside that suitcase.
I do keep the seating cushions covered
with an old sheet when we do not have guests
because this fabric is soooooo incredibly light.
It's cream and a greenish-blue.
Up close more blue and far away more green,
which means with the yellowy cream color
it is more green overall.
Now I just have to finish up the pillows.
They are mostly done.
They just need top seams.
Be looking for them soon.
They're pretty darn cute!!!!
So what do you think of my couch make over?
Pretty awesome for $54 in material.
Actually, less than $54 because I have a ton of material left.
This brings me to my next point.
A giveaway!!!!!
Yes! Would you like 1 yard of this awesome
houndstooth for yourself?
Well, just let me know what you would use it for
and it could be yours.
The giveaway will close on
Friday
because what could be more frugal
than winning something for free.
because what could be more frugal
than winning something for free.
P.S. Be on the look out for another project
that I used this fabric for.
It is kid friendly and cute.
Cool, the couch looks great! When I first read the post title on my blog feed I thought it said "...with a couch GIVEAWAY!!!". I thought a couch was an awfully strange thing to give away. Haha.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! My husband and I keep saying I need to redo ours (the kiddos have ripped holes in it), but I'm always too intimidated. Where would I even start? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI really hope to see this linked up this week. Welcome back!

ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job on your couch! That fabric is so great!!
I'd use for a lot of things to make it last since it's so great!! ....on a necklace redo, maybe some ruffles on a tote bag....
I love fabric! So generous of you to share!
Great fabric! LOVE how you redid your couch. Great job! I would use that awesome fabric to make some tote bags for myself and my daughters. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a difference the houndstooth makes! Plus, this fabric is just too fun!
ReplyDeleteI'd use it for a camera strap cover! Thanks for the chance to win! :)
